The National Association of Nurses and Midwives Kaduna council has expressed their worries over deduction of their salary by the Kaduna state government as part of contribution to COVID-19 emergency fund.

Kaduna council chairman of the association Ishaku Yakubu who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Kaduna said that the health workers are in the front line in the fight against the pandemic, hence the need to increase their salary.

He, however, pleaded with Governor Nasir Ahmed El-rufia to return the 25 percent salary deducted for the month of April and stop further deduction.

Comrade Ishaku Yakubu also call on government at all levels to provide personal protective equipment for health workers to enable them to Carry out their duties effectively.
