Ogun Assures Business Owners of Friendly Economic Policies
Despite Nigeria's economy slipping into recession, the Ogun state government has assured business owners and investors in the state that the government would continue to create enabling environment for businesses to thrive through the implementation of more business-friendly policies
Kikelomo Longe made this known in a chat with newsmen shortly after an industrial tour of companies to Ikenne and Sagamu Local Government Areas of Ogun State.
She noted that the State was looking inwards and boosting its agro-processing to strengthen the value chain and create more job opportunities for unemployed youths.
The commissioner, however, called on industries to use the competitive advantages in the State to grow their business and recover faster from the negative effect of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The Commissioner also stated that the government, as part of efforts to cushion the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on businesses approved a 50 per cent discount on Land use charge while it also gave an 8-month extension on filing of 2019 annual Pay As You Earn (PAYE) returns.
While calling on business entities to continue to reciprocate government's efforts on the creation of enabling environment through prompt payment of taxes and recruitment through the job portal, she stressed the need for the continuous observance of the covid-19 protocols.
