ALLEGED ILLEGAL DEMOLITION: FCT MINISTER, FHA SEEKS DISMISSAL OF KPOKPOGRI'S CASE
The High Court of the Federal Capital Territory may not decide anytime soon the suit on the demolition of the home of Abuja-based socialite Joseph Kpokpogri, as one of the defendants is faulting his approach in his quest for Justice.
@galaxytv correspondent reports that the Federal Housing Authority which is the fifth defendant in the suit is challenging the jurisdiction of the FCT High Court to hear the case.
One of the grounds for this is that the plaintiff's counsel, Mike Ozekhome SAN, on paper is not the same as the one handling the actual case, insisting such inconsistency in the names must be addressed by the Court before going ahead to treat Mr Kpokpogri's case.
The application by counsel to FHA, Mubarak Adekilekun, then prompted the court to adjourn till 12 October hearing on the matter until the matter on jurisdiction is effectively dealt with. Along with FCT Minister, other defendants in the suit are the Federal Capital Territory Administration and the Federal Capital Development Authority, Abuja Metropolitan Management Council, Federal Housing Authority, and the Attorney General of the Federation.
