EFCC Arrests 113 suspected Internet Fraudsters in Edo
Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, has arrested 113 suspected Internet Fraudsters in Edo.
The head of Benin Zonal Office, Mr Muhtar Bello, made this known while briefing newsmen on behalf of the Acting Executive Chairman of the commission.
He said the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, in collaboration with Federal Bureau of investigation, FBI arrested the suspected internet fraudsters at their various hideouts sequel to intelligence gathering that found them to have been involved in the fraudulent internet activity known as yahoo-yahoo and other related cyber crimes.
The EFCC zonal head also disclosed that a female suspect who specializes in stealing people identification information and using it in fraudulent tax return has been arrested including two siblings who were involved in searching for official business email addresses.
Items recovered from them at the point of arrest include luxury cars, laptop computers, mobile phones, flash drives and internet modems. They have made useful statements and will soon be charged to court.
