Okowa Says Banning Open Grazing is in Nigeria's Best Interest
The Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has reiterated the position of the southern governors in banning open grazing in the region, saying banning open grazing is in the best interest of the nation.
He made the disclosure in Asaba the state capital while briefing newsmen during the quarterly media chat on the activities of his administration, achievements and challenges.
Addressing journalists at the government house press centre in Asaba, Governor Okowa said the federal government should ensure the success of banning opening grazing through the introduction of ranching.
On the return of the 4.2 million pounds Ibori loot to Nigeria by the British government, Governor Okowa said the Delta state government is concluding paperwork in ensuring the money is returned to the state for specific projects.
In attendance at the briefing were media practitioners from different media organizations across Delta state.
