Reps to Meet Aviation Minister Over Plans to Make Military Officials Pay Tollgates at Airports.
The House of Representatives on Tuesday unanimously resolved to direct the Minister of Aviation to mandate relevant authorities to exempt members of the Armed Forces from tollgate fees and parking payments at airports across Nigeria.
This followed a matter of urgent public importance raised by Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki, who expressed concern that members of the Armed Forces are subjected to paying access fees at the airports.
The House also resolved to address the incessant attacks against the people of Yahya land perpetrated by herdsmen.
Hon. Leke Abejide urged the Inspector General of Police to carry out a comprehensive mop-up of all arms, ammunition, AK-47s, and other weapons in possession of herders and individuals within the constituency.
A bill seeking the establishment of a Federal Medical Centre in Atan-Ota in the Ado Odo/Ota Federal Constituency of Ogun State also passed a second reading in the House of Representatives.
The sponsor of the bill, Hon. Olatunji Akinosi, while presenting the bill on the floor, said there is a significant health gap in the constituency, noting that the urgent establishment of a medical facility in the area will help address the concerns of the people.
Speaking further, he called for the support of the House in ensuring that the bill is passed, stressing that this would reduce the health burden and challenges of the constituents and create health security for Ogun State and its environs.
