The High level of Water Rising in Benue State has Left Residents Stranded
The surging water levels of River Benue have submerged houses and farmlands in Makurdi, displacing hundreds of families. Areas such as Wadata, Gyado Villa, and Agwan Jukun have been flooded, forcing residents to evacuate.
Many homes, businesses, and even the Airforce Quarters are under threat. Affected residents, like Mr. Sunny Ntenba, have relocated to temporary shelters, recalling past floods caused by the Lagdo Dam in Cameroon. The Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has urged those in flood-prone areas to evacuate immediately for safety.
