Nigeria to Host 2nd Phase of Beach Volleyball Olympic Qualifiers
The Confederation of African Volleyball has awarded Nigeria the hosting right of the CAVB second phase of beach volleyball Group C women Olympic qualifiers. It will hold from March 4 to 8th.
Nigeria women beach volleyball team is drawn alongside, Kenya, Cape Verde, Congo, DR Congo and Zambia in the Group C qualifiers. The venue is Jabi Lake Beach, Abuja.
The participating countries are expected to arrive in Nigeria on the 4th of March while Technical Meeting is expected to hold the same day in March 2020. The main Competition is between 5th to 7th March and the departure date is 8th March 2020.
The president of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Musa Nimrod expressed optimism on Team Nigeria’s qualification at the end of the tournament stressing that all machinery have been put in place to motivate the team to qualify.
The head coach of the team, Francis Imoudu assured Nigerians of winning the ticket emphasizing that the players are in top form to deliver having scaled through the first hurdle in Accra Ghana.
The Technical Chairman of the federation, Martin Melandi said the players would be invited to the camp immediately after the end of President Beach Volleyball tournament holding in Kaduna from 19th to 23rd of February.
