Power: FG calls for legislation to tackle power theft and Vandalism.
The Federal Government has appealed to the National Assembly to come up with appropriate legislation that will curtail the spate of power theft and vandalization of power equipment across the country.
The Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu made the appeal during an oversight function to his ministry by the House of Representatives Committee on Power.
Adelabu, who noted that through effective collaboration with respective agencies and stakeholders, there has been power stability in the country said the Ministry is not resting on its oars.
To sustain the momentum, the Minister stressed the need for appropriate laws to curtail energy theft and vandalization of power equipment in Nigeria.

Adelabu who commended the National Assembly for it's support for the Minister stressed the need to accord priority to the Appropriation from the Ministry noting that, the power sector is now more active and vibrant more than ever before.
On his part, the Chairman House Committee on Power, Hon. Victor Onyemaechi Nwokolo, commended the efforts of the Minister and other agencies for the noticeable increasing in power generation and supply in the country.
He noted that the increase in the Electricity Supply in the country was suspended by the National Assembly in the interest of the masses stressing that, people need to enjoy what they are being charged for.
The Chairman of the Committee assured the Minister and the Ministry of the support and cooperation of the National Assembly towards sustaining the vibrancy of the power sector in Nigeria.
